Gypseys, tramps and thieves!

Gipsy Kitchen in Jessie Street is the baby sister of Gipsy Kitchen in Strathmore- not spelt gypsy the way we know it. The Strathmore location at night is fab. Their tapas are to die for. The city location is on a way smaller scale but packs in a lot of punch within its tight space. The ecletic décor is divine; from the fabulous bright mural outside which flows nicely into equally bright colours inside. No sign of any gypsies, tramps or thieves today though. Continue reading

Squeaky clean investment!

I was encouraged to write this gut-health blog by two dear friends, Maria and Hema. I was hesitant as it’s not within the realms of restaurant/travel reviews, however it’s part of my health and wellness lifestyle. I hope you learn something from my journey. Continue reading

Nicolinis – Italian café bar and bistro

Another Welly institution I haven’t been to for years is Nicolinis,  Open since 1997, it’s still going strong. If you remember Bellissimo or Aroma cafe late 80’s, same owner- Raffaele Abbate.  I actually first met Raffaele and his wife when they ran the restaurant in the hotel in Webb St, early 80’s. Now there’s some years for you. Continue reading

It’s always, always absolutely fantastic from whoah to go, and hubby suggested I do a blog post for something different.  As the lights are dimmed, it doesn’t do my pics justice, however you’ll get the gist for sure. My favourite part of our Mexico tour!

Ok peeps, this is my fave part of our tour so far, hence the zillion photos. The great part of being a blogger is you get to relive and reflect on your experiences through sharing with others, after the fact. This makes me more grateful. Continue reading

Beautiful Oaxaca, Mexico

After a six hour bus journey from Mexico city, and a wee taxi ride from the Oaxaca bus station, it was wonderful to arrive in a small, quaint, cobblestoned-street city full of vibrant colour and beautiful scenery. We stayed at Hotel Boutique Parador San Miguel. We just loved the décor and our room was large with twin beds. Hubby was so excited, he got a bed of his own. Continue reading

Hola Mexico City!

Deemed as one of the most dangerous cities in the world,  we felt extremely safe in Mexico city. We don’t go looking for trouble, so trouble ain’t gonna find us. Supposedly sprawling with 25 million people? They must have been busy or out of town when we were there, as we didn’t notice. It’s a beautiful city. And the bonus was, being of average height we felt tall!! The peeps there are tiny. Continue reading

Cured by San Antonio, Texas

Our final night in darling San Antonio and we finished with a bang. Thanks to my trusty foodie research advisor friend Ronda, she recommended Cured at Pearl, as being the numero uno place to dine at. So we were taken on an amazing gastronomic journey and this was one of our Texan highlights. Continue reading
