St John’s Bar and restaurant is the bomb location on a nice sunny Welly day. Check out the blue sky in my photo for proof that Summer did arrive albeit very late this year. They have outside tables, umbrellas and a cool grass area with bean bags and this place caters for the old and young alike. Continue reading
Finally Mr Go’s has been given a second chance and has reopened on Taranaki St, opposite Les Mills. It also had time to make some adjustments to the menu in the interim. Peeps we have authentic, Asian hawker food right on our doorstep. Continue reading
6th visit to Melbourne and this time blogging was my purpose, with a wee spot of shopping and sightseeing thrown in for good measure. My eatathon will be one I won’t forget quickly and has set the scene for future visits.
As I am located above the Muse Eatery and Bar, formerly known as the 3c bar, I have no excuse to now not have this as my local. This is the creation of the former Muse on Allen., which always had a great rep. Continue reading
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to PhuThai Esarn. Esarn is the name of the northeastern region of Thailand. Esarn food is generally healthy, full of herbs, spices and flavours. You can just tell this from my photos and the taste is sensational. They use fresh, local produce to produce spicy and delicious cuisine and take note NO MSG.
This has to be the best Thai in Wellington. The staff personally welcome you so warmly when you arrive. They take reservations, are BYO wine only and also offer a takeaway menu. They are open for a $10 lunch 12-00 to 230pm M-F and dinner M-Sun 5pm to late.
We shared the chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, karee puffs and thai fish cakes. Our mains were the basil chicken with chilli, seafood vege dish and the sizzling hot lamb plate. I loved the dishes so much I ate all the garnish, as everything is edible. One serving of rice was ordered but it was satisfying enough to eat as is and helped me follow a paleo/primal meal. I must say I normally get the Thai green curry, which is my ultimate favourite so will choose that next time.
Prices are so reasonable and being BYO wine does keep your costs down. I’ll be back 🙂
Hola. Geez I have been a busy gal about town lately as have have been out for lunch and a dinner this week. Heaven, I’m in heaven. I was going to try one of the new restaurants up Cuba St (the Cuba Quarter as it’s now known as), but it was closed. A negative always turns into a positive, so we were excited about returning for my fourth visit to Matador, Cafe Asador (Argentine grill) and bar. Continue reading
