They started with an old coffee machine at the back of a kite surfing shop, 16 years ago. They have matured and now working with the best coffee brewing and grinding equipment, producing amazing tasting coffee. The secret? Wellington is getting more like Melbourne by the minute. I’m loving the swanky new Press Hall; gourmet food eatery/laneway with rooftop bar on Willis Street. It’s still a WIP so I’m told and am shocked there are still people that walk past who’ve never heard of it or been before. The signage and marketing needs a bit more work. Continue reading
After an emotional week, it was great to have a lovely gals dinner out at the new Italian hotspot – Monte Cervino (translates to The Matterhorn). The name deliberately chosen by the ex owners of Matterhorn. Very clever. With my online booking in place, we were good to go. Tommy Millions newest takeaway pizza shop has setup on the corner of Featherston and Johnston Street. Their other place is a kindof hole in the wall on the corner of Taranaki Street and Courtenay Place which has been operating successfully for 4 years now in Wellington. Continue reading
I’m on the outskirts in Newtown, where they have struck gold with a recently opened Italian Osteria, Cicio Cacio (aka Chubby Cheese).
Being Italian, I’m always a little sceptical of Italian food outside of my Nonna’s house, Island Bay (‘Little Italy’ suburb of Wellington) or Italy, however this quickly dissipated as my nose went into spasms upon arrival. Nonna I’ve come home!
