To be frank!

The powers of social media eh? Thanks to an instant pic by fellow foodies Wellybrunch, I changed my original Friday lunch date venue to Frank’s on the Terrace. They also have one in Newtown too. I’d been here before three years ago only for a coffee, and remember their lovely cabinet food which they still have; lots of gorgeous muffins/cakes and filled rolls. Papa Satay House

Papa Satay now has a second restaurant in Allen Street, just off Courtenay Place in the CBD. Their original one is doing very well in the burbs of Johnsonville. As a Malaysian cuisine fan, I was inspired to organise a cheap and cheerful girls night out. Continue reading

David Jones cafe

We all loved Kirks, but I also really love its replacement; David Jones. More-so because we beat the Aucklanders to something for a change!. It’s a huge magnet for the city as well. There’s just something international and classy about it, and it exudes great energy. David Jones stores in Aussie are complimented with lovely cafes to match. Ours isn’t quite there yet, but has oodles of potential.

When I’m outta town on a sales trip, I’m normally rushing to and from meetings however a gal’s still got to eat. So today I met some clients for lunch for a nice change. Not knowing Palmy well, they recommended Elm Cafe and I’m delighted they did so. This has won a few Manawatu hospitality awards in the past which is great. Continue reading
