Shepherd Restaurant in Hannahs Laneway, Wellington is the combined talent of Masterchefs Shepherd Elliott (Leeds Street Bakery, Ti Kouka ) and Sean Golding (Golding’s Free Dive). On our first visit here we fell in love and voted this as our best dining experience in 2016. Sensational. Continue reading

Park the car now in Park Road and checkout Park Kitchen. There’s a new hottie in town and it’s not Scarlett Johansson! This is a must stop, located opposite the Roxy in Miramar. Yes I’m back in the ‘burbs and as soon as I walked into this place, I was absolutely blown away by the decor and the fab use of space;they have two main separate dining areas, a retro lounge area and an alfresco area. And checkout the amazing bathrooms!  Continue reading

Two hour culinary travel journey

Fellow foodies, fellow travellers, fellow foodietravellers, for a short culinary travel fix, get yourself along to see this lovely movie, The 100 ft Journey. You’ll be transported without having to travel too far to get a taste of India and Europe. The film is based on the novel of the same name, written by Richard C. Morais.  I don’t like to give too much away about a movie so I won’t spoil it, but it tells the story of an Indian family who are struck by tragedy and are are led to a quaint village in the South of France. They have a plan to open an Indian restaurant despite it being 100 feet opposite a Michelin starred French restaurant. It then follows the journey of a talented chef.

You will be charmed by the small village in Southern France and the amazing food and colour that is brought to the screen. The scenery is breath taking. It stars Helen Mirren, however I’m not familiar with the other actors. It will delight you in the fact that a love for food is universal, regardless of culture, and it always brings people together. It’s just such a ‘feel good’ movie. Enjoy.
