Welly is now not only the coffee capital of the world but making a name for itself with craft beer. Breweries or brewpubs are just popping up everywhere. I love the fact that even if you’re not a beer drinker, they offer spirits, all types of wine,  bubbles and booch. In a bit of a pickle!

 

From the minute I stepped inside the Pickle and Pie or Pie and Pickle, I fell in love. Lombard Lane has had a major spruce-up and is now a much safer area, so it has the Welly bo’ peeps aflockin’. It’s very New York trendy with cool industrial Scandinavian design. It’s light and spacious complimented with a cool vibe. Continue reading

Fidels on Cuba!

Goodness how uncanny that Fidel Castro just recently died and I’ve just revisited his namesake peaceful place in Welly. This actually wasn’t our first choice for the gals regular catchup but the menu across the road just didn’t do it for us, so Fidels it was. It’s a Wellington institution and you just never tire of it as it just rocks all day long morning, lunch and dinner. Well we didn’t experience any aftershocks, and I mean rocks as in knocks it out the ball park everytime. Continue reading

Too Cool for School at Coolsville
