I’m so pleased Tinakori Bistro was salvaged from shutting down. What a survivor as it’s been around for donkeys. We hadn’t been here for donkeys either. The décor hasn’t changed but boy the menu and cuisine has. French is our ultimate fave and especially a treat for my birthday. Continue reading
6th visit to Melbourne and this time blogging was my purpose, with a wee spot of shopping and sightseeing thrown in for good measure. My eatathon will be one I won’t forget quickly and has set the scene for future visits.
I’ve now been to Sterling Woodfire Eatery on the Terrace about four times and have enjoyed each visit. I can’t wait to try lunch and dinner. It’s the sister restaurant to Egmont St Eatery so has a good rep for food and is part of the new funky Park Hotel. The hotel stayers will welcome this with open arms and it will certainly add to their fab stay there for sure.
Talk about unique. The Arborist Rooftop bar is 7 stories high in adjacent to the Restaurant at the Trinity Hotel. The elevator ride and wee stair climb is so worth it. It is the most stunning view of Welly and my fave. And you can’t beat Wellington on a good day right?
As I am located above the Muse Eatery and Bar, formerly known as the 3c bar, I have no excuse to now not have this as my local. This is the creation of the former Muse on Allen., which always had a great rep. Continue reading
A fellow foodie recommended me visit the Joseph St kitchen in Palmy and I’m so glad I did. I keep wanting to call it Saint Joseph St Kitchen! I also didn’t realise it was in the burbs and my trusty GPS had me going around in circles for a bit. However I persevered as only one true foodie blogger does as someone had nicked the street sign?!
Being able to sit on the balcony of the Seashore Cabaret in Petone on a gorgeous autumnal day was just bliss. Located above the Petone Rowing Club this new cafe belongs to the Maranui cafe family. It’s a gold mine and good fortune for the Petone-ites, Eastbourne-ites, Hutt chicks and Wellywoodians alike.
Oh Floriditas how I love thee. I have never, ever had a bad meal, or bad service here in all my visits. I have an undying, inexplicable love for this place; for its food, its opulence, European ambiance, fab Supreme coffee and consistency in service. Continue reading
The Café Queen is back in Welly (that’s me) and I was bursting at the seams to try Mexico in Dixon St, Wellington. I love the one in Britomart so I was excited to hear it was coming to Welly.
Normally you don’t rate hotel breakfasts right? They’re either a standard continental offering of cereal, fruit, toast and juice or coffee, or you get a choice of a fully cooked breakfast with drink of your choice. You also normally would not venture to a hotel for a daily breakfast or brunch right? But have you checked out the Portlander Bar and Grill at the Rydges Hotel on Featherston St?
