Staying alive!

I’m so pleased Tinakori Bistro was salvaged from shutting down. What a survivor as it’s been around for donkeys. We hadn’t been here for donkeys either. The décor hasn’t changed but boy the menu and cuisine has. French is our ultimate fave and especially a treat for my birthday. Continue reading

Brother can you spare a dime?!

A huge fan of Five Boroughs, I was keen to checkout Elie Assaf’s other child, in funky Cuba St; Five and Dime. I attempted a gal catchup here a year ago, however it was a bit too fancy schmancy at the time. We were in the mood for a true brunch menu so we chose Fidels, across the road. Continue reading

Brunch at Sofitel’s Le Jardin Grill

,

Ooh la la, what a great deal. $49 pperson for Beaujolais Nouveau brunch, all you can eat, excluding drink. Plus quality food and service to boot, in plush surroundings. Get yourselves to the newly re-opened Jardin Grill, Sofitel Wellington on a weekend, in Bolton Street. It’s amazing. Continue reading

In a bit of a pickle!

From the minute I stepped inside the Pickle and Pie or Pie and Pickle, I fell in love. Lombard Lane has had a major spruce-up and is now a much safer area, so it has the Welly bo’ peeps aflockin’. It’s very New York trendy with cool industrial Scandinavian design. It’s light and spacious complimented with a cool vibe. Continue reading

The Old Quarter

The former Malaysian Satay Kajang has reopened as a new Vietnamese restaurant on Dixon Street; The Old Quarter. What another Vietnamese restaurant in Welly you say but clapping your hands of course, and not complaining.  Continue reading

Bravo Amano!

This was my second attempt to try out this funky, Italian restaurant in Britomart.  Fortunately we secured a reservation this time. I got there early so I could soak up the ambiance, take some snaps and peruse the menu. Girlfriend got a park right outside in Tyler St. Perfect start. Continue reading

Air NZ Business class in-flight service!

I’m fortunate that I’ve experienced Air New Zealand business class so many times now. Airline of the year 2017 you can see why! It’s always, always absolutely fantastic from whoah to go, and hubby suggested I do a blog post for something different.  As the lights are dimmed, it doesn’t do my pics justice, however you’ll get the gist for sure. My favourite part of our Mexico tour!

Ok peeps, this is my fave part of our tour so far, hence the zillion photos. The great part of being a blogger is you get to relive and reflect on your experiences through sharing with others, after the fact. This makes me more grateful. Continue reading

Mitla to San Cristobal- Mexico

We left beautiful Oaxca and travelled in our Mercedes MexTrotter minivan, to this cute place called Mitla. The church was beautiful as was its famous 2000 yr old cypress tree. We visited these ruins and got to climb in caves. They had these wee markets closeby and I purchased a gorgeous black and floral scarf. Continue reading
