Long story short. Once upon a time, a guy called Scottie Reeve who works for youth organisation Zeal, had an idea to give young people an opportunity to do some barista-ing within the hospo and coffee industries.
Stories Cafe is attractively housed in a container, and a first for Welly on lower Cuba Street. It’s already got people telling stories. On the positive flipside, this quirky initiative is to also help source funds for the Zeal Nationwide Education Trust, which assists their youth centres and Barista Academy training courses.
Head barista Kirk Hodgson is assisted by Georgia Hudson. Not the famous Hudson and Halls but Hudson and Hodgson. They serve you quality coffee made passionately with love. There’s also some yummy sweet treats for sale. There is outdoor seating as well as a small table inside, designed for sharing.
A big shout out to Wellington City Council for their support of this entrepreneurial venture and also to the other sponsors. Apparently there are plans to transform lower Cuba Street similar to Bond Street. Now that would be brill for the city.
