This new, boutique hotel on West 38th Street, NYC was amazing. http://archerhotel.com/new-york/. Its elegance and art was superb as is the location. We were greeted with consistent, outstanding high standard of friendly service from every staff member, every day.
Our room was not large but adequate, as of course how often are you in your hotel room in NYC? The bonus was it looked out on to the gorgeous ESB (for non New Yorkers, that is the Empire State building). The decor was absolutely stunning. The bathroom was spacious, and superbly appointed with amazing Malin and Goetz toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. There was storage for suitcases under the bed (which we found out a bit late-doh!). I loved the Nespresso machine which we used a lot. We loved the ‘turn down’ service at night as you received different types of cookies or mini cupcakes, accompanied by a descriptive card. Such a nice touch.
They have an amazing trendy restaurant behind the lobby and also seating outdoors at the front of the hotel for those balmy nights. Or you can head upstairs to the awesome Spyglass rooftop restaurant with its fantastic view.
As we were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary, we arrived back the first night to a complimentary bottle of champagne and an gorgeous red velvet cake for dessert. This extra special gesture just blew us away. We would definitely stay again. Thank you The Archer hotel for a fabulous stay.
