Ooh la la, who would have thought you could experience a slice of Paris in Welly, smack bang in the CBD? Well now you can. If you haven’t been to Louis Sergeant’s salon du the, sweet couture, you’re in for a real treat.
You can grab a classic French breakfast on the go e.g. croissant (naked or filled ) or pain au chocolat with a fabulous coffee or have a delectable patisserie with a drink anytime of the day. Try the tarte au citron or mandarine express or even a gluten free Dolce Vita. These look too nice to eat but you have to indulge at least once. They package these up in beautiful pink boxes with ribbons, if you need to gift them to someone. You can also buy a stunning cake for any occasion and these change regularly or even a selection of their handmade, gourmet chocolates. When packaged, they look a million bucks when you walk out the door, as everyone goggles as you walk up the street, pretending you’ve just been to Paris.
You can also book a high tea for a special occasion ,the crockery is stunning and you choose to accompany this with either fabulous coffee, a vast range or organic teas, bubbly or the real macoy, French champagne. They even serve coconut water, so that gets a big tick in my book. Bless.
Lunches are divine and they cater for gluten-free requests. I’ve tried the Caesar salad, and roquefort and pear salad and can’t wait to try salade nicoise, pork belly with slaw, croque monsieur or ham and emmenthal baguettes. You can also share a charcuterie platter at night with a beverage, so check opening/closing hours.
This place has got it right for the location, as they know what side of town they’re on and their purpose. True connoisseurs. They are busy but it’s classy and unique. You might get a little brusque service, which is very Parisian but just go with it, it’s worth it. You can take your friend, your client, your mother, or your lover. You choose. I’ve just eaten lunch and am now making myself hungry again, are you?
Take me there Denise!
Will do one day!
